Clay County Multi-Day Log Status
Clay County publishes no official 72-hour, weekly, or multi-day arrest log. The sheriff's old domain no longer resolves. Its current county directory lists no blotter. No booking PDF or vendor search sits in its place, and no published source defines which agencies a county log would even include. Sheriff bookings start in one file. Piggott, Corning, and Rector police arrests may start in others. A booking at the Clay County Detention Center then shows custody. But not every city arrest reaches the jail. No single office holds every incident report.

Start with dates and agency scope. Asking only for "the arrest log" can stall a request, because a custodian may say booking record, detention log, incident report, or jail roster entry instead. Name the office and state the date span plainly. Then ask the custodian which responsive record exists for those days.
- Define the first and last date, including the year.
- Ask the sheriff for public booking records or jail detention-log entries within that range.
- If a city officer made the arrest, contact that police department for its public incident or arrest report.
- Match jail and police records by name, date, agency, incident number, or case number.
- Use Search ARCourts for later filings and disposition, not as proof of live custody.
A name alone can produce a false match. Add a second lawful identifier. Ask whether the person was released or transferred. A current list may omit anyone no longer housed at the Clay County jail. For same-day confirmation only, the 24 Hour Arrests page covers that narrow window, while a wider span needs this records route.
Clay Arrest-Log Entry Fields
Clay County posts no public result card. So no fixed entry format can be promised. The table below is a request inventory built from standard booking-record categories. Ask each agency which fields it keeps and which public portions it can supply.
| Field to request | How it helps |
|---|---|
| Name and local booking number | Separates similar names and links records. |
| Booking date and time | Places intake inside the requested window. |
| Arresting agency | Points to the office holding the police report. |
| Charges as booked | Shows initial charges. |
| Statute or ordinance citation | Identifies the recorded basis for the charge. |
| Bond, hold, or release status | Explains a custody change where public. |
| Incident or case number | Connects police, jail, and court records. |
| Booking photograph | May be retained, though no official web-photo policy exists. |
Arkansas Code § 13-4-404 places booking photographs and jail detention logs among the jail booking records that must be kept for at least five years. That five-year floor says nothing about the web. It promises no online archive at all. It also promises no release of every field, since protected or sealed material can still be withheld or redacted.
Clay Weekend Booking Gaps
No official feed exists, so no weekend or holiday publishing pattern can be measured for Clay County. A weekly paper prints after the fact. A regional outlet covers only what it deems newsworthy. Neither schedule reveals how many bookings actually occurred, and court entries follow court processing rather than any sheriff blotter clock. For a Friday-through-Monday span, write out the dates. Don't ask for a "weekend list." Ask whether the responsive record sorts by arrest date or booking date, because those can differ. Cover every calendar day. If a holiday closed the offices, ask when the record will be available rather than assuming it does not exist.
Note: A delayed post reflects publication timing, not necessarily the arrest time, booking time, release time, or completeness of the source.
Clay County News Blotter Limits
The Clay County Courier is the best local newspaper lead. The Arkansas Press Association lists it as a weekly. It runs no mugshot gallery or booking feed. KAIT8, NEA Report, and Imboden Live have each carried selected Clay County arrest, court, or sheriff stories. All are event-driven rather than comprehensive. The official Corning directory listing for the Clay County Courier shows the paper's contact information:

A directory listing confirms a newspaper contact. It grants no official jail-reporting role. Nor does it set any arrest-story schedule. Even so, a regional story can identify an agency, a date, or a case worth pursuing. It cannot prove current custody after publication. Photos are story-specific, so verify names and dates against official records and check the court for how the case ends.
Unofficial Clay Log Searches
Busted Newspaper, RecentlyBooked, Mugshots.com, Arrests.org, and Mugshots.zone list no verified Clay County, Arkansas page. Results often point to another state's Clay County. Those pages are not Arkansas records. A statewide interface proves little either, since it may hold no current Clay data at all. Two private jail guides mention the Clay detention facility. Their capacity, reopening, and search claims lack support in current official county material, so treat them as secondary leads only. Start with the county directory or the agency custodian instead. The RecentlyBooked Arkansas index appears here:

The Arkansas index shows what one private site collects statewide. It does not confirm any Clay County section. Complete coverage is not guaranteed there. Official status is out of the question.
Archive Clay County Arrest Records
Older Clay County booking records do not sit on a website forever. The sheriff's office is the place to ask. State law keeps jail booking records for at least five years. After that, a county may dispose of them under its own process. So ask when you call. Is the detention log or booking photo you want still in the active system? Or is it stored elsewhere in the county? No Clay-specific retention schedule is posted online.
The Arkansas State Archives research-services page describes a separate route for deep history. The archives hold old county files, court papers, and newspapers. It makes no promise that Clay County mugshots end up there. Its remote research service wants names, dates, the county, and the type of record. For anything recent, though, the sheriff stays your first stop. The same holds for any Clay County arrest record.

Keep expectations realistic. The state archives are an archival path, not a live Clay County jail roster. They do not guarantee historical mugshots either. Current arrest records stay with the sheriff.
Request Clay Detention Logs
Start with a phone call to the Clay County Sheriff's Department at (870) 598-2270. Ask who the records custodian is and how the office accepts requests. The department lists no separate records line, form, email, fee schedule, or set turnaround. A tight written Arkansas FOIA request works best. Name Clay County, the exact date span, and the record type. Spell out the fields you want too.

No separate records line published
Two more pointers before you authorize copies. Ask for an estimated copying cost up front so there are no surprises. If part of a detention log is exempt, request the portions that are public and can be separated out.
Note: Jail retention, public web display, newspaper archives, and court disposition are separate records lifecycles with different custodians and meanings.
